Introduction
Some customers may complain of a rattle type noise coming from the exterior area of the vehicle while driving above 40 mph (64 kph). Replacement outer mirror covers are now available as separate service parts to address this condition.

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer’s specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
- Confirm that the rattle noise is coming from exterior mirrors.
Apply tape around outer mirror cover (see illustration below)- If noise goes away, proceed to step 2.
- If rattle noise is NOT eliminated, STOP. The source of noise is from a different location. This TSB does NOT apply.
NOTE:
Perform the following procedures on BOTH sides of the vehicle.
- Replace the outer mirror covers with NEW service parts.
- Test drive and confirm rattle noise is gone.
