Repair Procedure

  1. Should a M.I.L. ON condition with DTC P0300 and/or P030# be encountered, perform diagnostic procedures as described in the Technical Information System (TIS) 2003 or 2004 model year Celica Repair Manual: Diagnostics: Engine (1ZZ-FE): P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected (Celica).
  2. If the problem source cannot be identified after checking all affected areas according to TIS, the cause may be an ECM (PCM) logic malfunction. In this case, replace the ECM (PCM) with the updated part according to TIS:
    • 2003 model year Celica Repair Manual: Engine Mechanical: Engine Unit: Removal (steps 10 a-d).
    • 2004 model year Celica Repair Manual: Engine Mechanical: Engine Unit: Removal (steps 12 a-d).
