Introduction

Some Highlander, Matrix, and RAV4 vehicles may intermittently exhibit a “no crank” condition. The engine can usually be started after moving the shift lever to the Neutral position or by cycling the shift lever in and out of the Park position. A revised neutral start switch assembly is available to address this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY

  • This repair is covered under the ToyotaeBay Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
  • Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

This TSB applies to all 2008 – 2009 Highlander, 2009 – 2010 Matrix, 2009 – 2010 TMMC-built RAV4, and to RAV4 vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

Repair Procedure

  1. Replace the neutral start switch assembly.
