FRONT PASSENGER FOOT AREA WET

Introduction
On some ECHO, Scion xA, and Scion
xB vehicles, a condition may exist that allows the evaporator drain hose to become detached, causing the passenger foot well to become wet. This bulletin provides a procedure to correct this condition.
Applicable Vehicles
- 2003 – 2005 model year ECHO vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown below.
- 2004 – 2006 model year Scion
xA and xB vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer’s specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
- Inspect the evaporator drain hose to ensure that it is the cause of the water leak. If the evaporator hose is out of position, continue with this procedure.
- Install the retaining clamp on the drain hose.
- Push the drain hose up onto the evaporator drain tube. Ensure that the drain hose is up far enough for the retaining clamp to fully engage the tube.
- Release the holding clip.
